<description>Found the site on music quizzes, etc.

http://www.musictechteacher.com/musicquizzes.htm

I use a lot of these on the Mimio board and have the class divided into teams, but they could be done on individual online computers.

		<description>Hi Claude.

Thanks so much for the info! May I ask where you can find the self-administered quizzes? I have a teacher looking for those.

Thanks!

<description>I enjoyed reading your comments on the greatly useful Smart Board. At our school (an independent lower school in Dallas) we started with 2 Smart Boards and their versatility completely won over the faculty and administration. As a result we got a grant to install "Mimio" Boards (a slightly less complex, but hugely less expensive version) in all of our 30 some-odd classes and shared spaces. The learning curve for this version is not steep! Every teacher has the board up and running the entire day.

As the music teacher for grades Pre-K through Fourth I found tons of online materials to bring technology into the classroom, from self-administered quizzes to online explorations sponsored by major symphony orchestras (the Philarmonia Orchestra of Great Britain has a superb site for interaction and instrument exploration, including places to compose music from real orchestral samples!).

Our school uses Macs in the classroom...very intuitive and powerful.

I hope your schools look into this fantastic asset. Smart Boards and Mimio Boards rock!

Here's my Blog: http://musicbethefood-cwhite.blogspot.com/ My school is doing a summer professional development project called 23 Things, a terrific technology learning experience. Here's the site of 23 Things: http://library2play.blogspot.com/

BTW I added your blog to my Bloglines, so I'll be reading about you!
