Today, my second graders, the second grade teachers, and I went to the local Adult Care Center and sang our holiday concert songs to the residents. The students greeted the residents in the center’s community room, sang their songs, and performed the daily exercises with the residents. The students enjoyed meeting the residents and performing for them. The residents enjoyed listening to the students sing and singing along with the holiday songs that they recognized.
It is a great way for your young students to learn about and perform community service and a wonderful way for you to bring your concerts to your community.
